Giving up YADRMT development

I decided to give up YADRMT (Yet Another Debian Repository Management Tool) development. YADRMT was supposed to be a simple tool – written in Python – to create and maintain a Debian repository with pool structure. I am lacking of free time, and more powerful tools already exist, like Bernard R. Link’s reprepro.

As YADRMT was never released, I am sure nobody will care about this. If you want me to provide the code that was already written, just leave a comment.

By the way, note that you can find reprepro Debian packages backported for Sarge in my repository (which is of course updated through reprepro).

First backports for Sarge

I have built some backports for Sarge of “my” Debian packages. Here is the short list: ftpsync, rdiff-backup, reprepro, and, last but not least rkhunter.
See http://packages.kirya.net for more information on how to use my repository.

I plan to build some more backports for tovid and tovid-gui packages.

First blog, first entry

I finally decided to open my own weblog. Not that I have much to say, but I discovered this *can* be a good means to talk about my personal projects, explain my ideas, and maybe learn from others’ comments. This blog will complete the already existing kirya.net website, but I will also certainly be pushed to broach more general topics. However, do not expect me to speak about the music I listen to, or things like that. Who would be interested anyway?

I chose to install Wordpress, as it seems to be the more flexible engine for the future needs, and allows quick posting through the Gnome Blog applet.

Please, do not hesitate to leave your comments and suggestions.
